Hey Everyone,
This week at the MTC has been great but it has gone by so fast! I can't believe that I get to go to New Mexico on Monday!
This week we have focused a lot on teaching with the spirit, which I love. Whenever my companion and I have the spirit with us the lesson always goes so much better. I was able to sing in the MTC choir on Tuesday during the devotional. It was such a great experience! We sang Nearer My God to Thee which has been one of my favorite hymn for awhile but getting to sing it with so many missionary's of the Lord was even better than usual! The spirit was so strong when we sang! After the devotional all of us walked back to the MTC and it was like a huge wave of missionaries, there are so many of us!
I have grown to love my district so much! My companion and I along with one other Sister in our district are going to New Mexico and the rest of our district is going to San Diego so it will be sad to see them go but I know they are in good hands and that they will be great missionaries! Yesterday we had In-field orientation where they talked about working with the ward members to find people. Even if you aren't a full time missionary we still need to be sharing the gospel because the Lord can work through you! One of my favorite chapters that we read this week as a district is Alma 26. It is where Ammon talks about how he boasts not of himself but of the Lord. That is how I feel! The Lord has been so good to me and to all of you! I love serving the Lord because you can see how much he blesses our lives everyday. I have loved being at the MTC but I cannot wait to get to New Mexico and teach the people there! I know God loves us and wants us to come unto him. Keep writing because I love to hear from you!
All my love,
Sister Lexy Smith

MTC

This week has been so good! Wednesday after you dropped me off with Sister Smith, my host, we went and got my badge and study material. She then helped put my bags away before dropping me off at my districts classroom. My companion is Sister Beech from Sandy UT. She is so sweet and has been great to work with! There is only one other Sister that is going to Albuquerque from our district. The rest of our district is going to San Diego California. The other district in our zone has Elders and Sisters going to Albuquerque and San Diego as well. Our teacher, Brother Jibson, has already helped us learn so much! Wednesday night we had a teaching experience where they put some of the new Elders and Sisters in a room and let us help teach an investigator. It was really neat and was a great learning opportunity. By Wednesday night we were all super tired! Thursday we had breakfast then went to a People and Your Purpose workshop where we learned about teaching people instead of lessons. We had lots of class the rest of the day but Sister Beech and I got to go to the gym and run during the middle of the day so that made it easier to stay focused. Thursday night we had a Zone meeting and we all got to go around and bear our testimonies. It was so neat to see everyones different personalities but to know that we have all been called to the work! I just love my district! Today we had breakfast, zone teaching and then class. Now it's Preparation Time were we get a couple of hours to do our laundry and email. It's crazy to think that they even give us this time because every second of the past couple of days has been packed, and we still have so much more to learn! I haven't even had time to feel home sick! I love being in the MTC! I have seen several of my friends from college and from home that are here! There are just so many people in the MTC, it's amazing! Love all of you and know that the Lord is watching out for you! I'm so glad I get to be a part of this Marvelous Work! I love the Lord and know without a doubt that this is the true gospel on the earth!
Love, Sister Smith
